Dylan fell behind in his schooling after his mother, a university professor, could no longer home school him due to illness. At his mother’s funeral, Dylan met the principal of his local Simon Youth Academy and enrolled soon after. SYF’s individualized learning environment helped him persevere through life’s obstacles.
Johana was a daughter of a single mom, working two jobs to help support her family and taking care of her younger brother. Attempting to juggle these responsibilities - along with her high school courses - was overwhelming, and she fell behind. Fortunately, Johana found her local Simon Youth Academy and the educators there helped her realize a better future was possible. She excelled and upon graduation, was one of nearly 5,000 recipients of a Simon Youth Scholarship!
Gabriel’s biggest struggle in high school was staying on track. Her propensity to procrastinate caught up with her, and she learned she was at risk of not graduating. Seeking a second chance at earning her education, Gabriel enrolled at her local Simon Youth Academy. She found the hands-on learning experience and individualized support she needed to thrive – and she reached graduation day!
